Cape May Court House - Voters in Cape May County turned out in record numbers on Tuesday, casting ballots for president, United States senator, Congress and county and local offices. Voters approve Conventional Hall. Cape May - Two-thirds of Cape May voters turned out to voice their opinion on a new Convention Hall project, Nov. 4, and two-thirds of those who came out said “Yes” to the question authorizing the funding. Cape May Star and Wave 11/6
Beck, Lare win in Lower. First Independent elected mayor in township. Lower Township - Independent candidate Mike Beck said he used his summer off as a teacher to go around the township meeting people and campaigning for mayor, and for his running mate Kevin Lare. Cape May Star and Wave 11/6
Liquor license sale approved. West Cape May - Voters in the borough approved three ballot questions allowing the sale of two liquor licenses in the borough and the establishment of a fun for tax relief from the proceeds of the sale. Cape May Star and Wave 11/6
Ocean House now Beach Shack. Plans to demolish Coachman’s scrapped. Cape May - The owners of Coachman’s Motor Inn have apparently scrapped plans to demolish the beachfront hotel, and instead, plan to renovate the property and reopen in next spring. Cape May Star and Wave 11/6
Whale’s Tale turns 35! Cape May - The Whale’s Tale is turning 35 this month and shoppers can help the store celebrate and support the community non-profits as well. Cape May Star and Wave 11/6
Cutter Dependable Home for a While. Cape May - Wives, children and a few parents were lined up on the dock as the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Dpendable tied up here at exactly 9 a.m. Oct. 31, its expected arrival time. Cape May County Herald 11/5
Cape May to Celebrate Henry Hudson’s 400th Anniversary. Cape May - Almost 400 years ago, explorer Henry Hudson got his ship, the Half Moon, stuck in a sandbar off Cape May Point in Delaware Bay and in the rocess discovered Cape May and surrounding areas. Cape May County Herald 11/5
